ASSUMPTIONS
-Opening
up the old creek will help alleviate flooding of streets and homes while
creating a beneficial green corridor with walking and biking paths and
park space.
-The
creek that once ran through Lansdowne was a vital part of the community.
-Beautification
of the neighborhood by creating a green corridor will promote neighborhood
pride.
-The
old creek was engineered underground and now the pipes are deteriorating
and will eventually fail completely.
-Architectural
features along with the bike path will connect to surrounding neighborhoods
and cities and draw people into Lansdowne, thereby contributing to the
economy of the community.
-Developing
the creek along Morris Avenue will promote new housing development where
there is currently vacant land.
