A Collaborative, Interdisciplinary East St. Louis Action Research Project (ESLARP) Studio Workshop
ESLARP Interdisciplinary Team #2:
This senior studio is comprised of architecture and landscape architecture students who worked collaboratively with the urban planning students to develop neighborhood master plans and programs for a neighborhood facility.
Our ESLARP team made several field trips to East St. Louis to meet with the residents, to study the site context, and to meet with representatives of the community based organization. We also particpiated in weekend field trips, working on clean-up, fix-up, and paint-up projects. Between these field trips and monthly meetings to East Saint Louis, we touched based on the issues that were of current interest to the residents. Suggestions and feedback between the students and the residents were crucial to the design of the Lansdowne Town Center.
