REUBEN ANDERSON
Mr. Anderson was born in Longview, Texas on January 16,1941. He is married to Catherine J. Lee Anderson and their anniversary is January 10. He is a member of Minister Gayles Church. The qualities which best describe Mr. Anderson are these: he is ambitious, honest, responsible, dependable, cooperative and observant.
My greatest personal achievement is to be able to start a business in 1983 and to be able to see the success and growth of the business in a period of three years. The business is now in the process of being moved from this location on Washington Avenue in St. Louis to a new facility especially designed and built for us. An adversity in my life occurred in 1976, when I had a bout with a serious attack of diabetes; to the point that I was hospitalized and was on insulin daily for over a year. After talking to the physician who said that proper diet and exercise were adjuncts to healing diabetes, I began to do both of these things after leaving the hospital. Plus, I did research on my own to see what would cure this malady or keep it from getting worse. I practiced exercising faithfully and watched my diet prudently. As a result, I do not need to take insulin anymore. I am the owner of Andy's Seasonings. We make a great barbecue sauce and a great coating for fish, that everyone ought to try. There are so many things I like about my business that all I can say is, "It's great being a business owner." While employed at McDonnell Douglas, I received a presidential award. While a student at Wiley College in Texas, I received an award for a science experiment I perfected. My hobby is reading and my favorite book is a book entitled "Book of Favorite Poems." I like this particular book because reading poetry relaxes me. I live in North St. Louis. We have good neighbors plus my particular neighborhood is a good one. Reuben Anderson
