PLUCKY GIRL

The ruling passion of one sorrowful little girl proved strong even when the tornado had left her without a home and with only the clothing she had on. She was found by an officer hovering near her wrecked home Seventeenth and Geyer avenue industriously turning over bricks and debris in search of her school books. She was about to graduate in the Normal School and fearful the loss of books, which she could scarcely afford to replace, would mean failure in examinations.
