Addendum
The following letter was sent by Loyd Carr to Rube Yelvington in response to Yelvington's book East St. Louis, The Way It Is, 1990, also published by Top's Books. The letter is an outstanding nostalgic account of life in the old South End, and is included although it was not sent with this book in mind. In the following pages are several letters responding to that book, and at least one account sent to the Belleville Area College senior citizen program on East St. Louis in the good old days, and pictures accumulated by Ed English but left over from his 12 chapters that he thinks the reader will enjoy seeing.
