Abandoned city garage -- once Bi-State Garage -- on
Eighth Street, contains old city equipment from fire trucks to automobiles. It's for
sale. East St. Louis abounds with abandoned buildings that would make decent
business or industry sites. |
15th and Broadway once was the
nerve center of the black community. This building is where Will McGaughy
established the health services program, was booted out, and saw his successor charged
with theft and the center closed. It has never opened again. Once it was a
liquor store. |
