Ground Floor Plan

Second Floor Plan

The final floor plans have been modified to fit reviewer feedback and also residents desires for their living space.  The shape has been simplified to create spaces that are easier to manipulate.  Main community spaces still exist on the first floor: dining room, kitchen, reading lounge and library, and tv lounge.  We have also added a day center.  The day center can be described as a place where community residents are welcome to join elderly residents.  Many residents expressed an interest in a place for kids, which is incorporated in this part of the plan and integrated with the landscape as well.  The second floor plan has become quite unique of the first. It still holds offices, but also includes an exercise area as well as a crafts and games lounge.  The long hallways have beeen cut down by second floor links.  These leave a covered walkway on th g round  and provide an easier path for the people on the second floor.

This plan shows a modified version of the independent living apartment.  The apartment still holds the same amenities : private bath and full kitchen as well as space for a stackable washer and dryer, living area and bedroom.  The private patio entrance looks onto the front of the complex (Market St.) or onto the garden plots in the semi-private courtyard.

This plan for an assisted living apartment features many of the same qualities and spaces as the independent living apartment does.  It has a private bathroom, living room, and bedroom and large windows overlooking the courtyard and rear landscaped area. The assisted living apartment also has an efficiency kitchen.
