Final Presentation Material

After several months of extensive background research, tours of other facilities, and periodic meetings with the residents of East St. Louis, we hope that the challenge we have set forth, and the wishes and desires of the residents have been successfully realized. Throughout this process we have come to realize several issues that play a large role in the final design of this elderly housing complex.

15 one-bedroom units & 40 two-bedroom units
designed under specific HUD specifications for potential construction
each unit has both front and rear entrance for ease in transition from private home to housing community
circulation and community space one-in-the-same with large "mall style" indoor corridors
corridors allow for 4 seasons of exposure to landscape elements
direct relation between interior and exterior design applications
each unit consist of private exterior spaces for personalization and use
daycare designed into the community, but offers the option of interaction
6 detached units placed within community because of residents request
includes approximately 29 covered garage stalls
