The Foundations of Urban Ecology:
Urban Ecology was founded in the 1970’s by Richard Register in Berkley, California to "rebuild cities
in balance with nature." (Urban Ecology as the Basis of Urban Planning: Sukopp)Ecology: The study of the relationship between living things and their environment.
Urban Ecology: The study of the interactions between biological communities and the urban environment
and its goal is to achieve a balance between human culture and the natural environment.
