     Solutions for a livable Lansdowne

  • Repair sidewalks and streets.
  • Create sidewalks with grass and tree barriers where none exist.
  • Limit the amount of curb cuts to contain the car to the street.
  • Utilize allies for services such as trash pick-up.
  • Reduce speed limits and create a safer pedestrian environment by narrowing streets.
  • Multi-purpose zoning codes to allow for housing and commercial development in the same area.
  • Commercial development within a walking distance to purchase daily amenities.
  • Building upon vacant lots prior to outward growth will create a denser community with more “eyes on the street.”
  • A more definable center to Lansdowne will promote identity within the community.
  • Continue the use of front porches as a transition between street and house.  This will encourage social activity in a safe zone.
