Practical 12--

Suitability for Proposed Land Use Changes

The availability of land in the ESL area for the proposed land-use conversion.

  1. Work as a group.
  2. Consider the land-use change proposed and the implications of the economic, visual, cultural and habitat analyses you have done.
  3. Use EGRETS/ArcView to identify suitable sites or land use classifications for your proposed changes.
  4. Prepare a report on the availability of land for the changes your group proposes as part of your land-use evaluation homepage, linked to maps, illustrations and other relevant reports within the ESLARP on-line resources.
  5. As much as you can use map comparisons and overlays to evaluate what you have found out about the impacts of your proposed changes on resources. As before, spell out any assumptions and guesses based on your own knowledge of the area.
  6. Either as credits within the report, or independently via e-mail, identify individual group members' contributions.
  7. Due: Finals week, Friday, December 18
