A More Lively and More Lovely East St. Louis
Introduction
As a noticeable example of urban blight in American, East St. Louis has long
been
suffered from economic and demographic decline which caused to abandoned lots
and vacant or dilapidated properties permeating all over the city boundary.
This kind of places lack of maintenance is an invitation to dump which
increments environmental degradation.
To improve current quality of life for the citizens of ESL and to provide
directions that may improve the future and encourage new life and vitality
are the main goals of this project. The short-term evolution to achieve these
goals is to reuse abandoned lots as well as to create jobs for the citizens of
ESL. Recycling and agriculture related businesses are proposed to satisfy the
needs.
