The 1999 report from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development entitled "Building Higher Education-Community Development Corporation Partnerships" features ESLARP-NTAC on page 40. (http://www.huduser.org:80/publications/commdevl/higher.html) The Summer 1999 edition of the Association of American Colleges and Universities Liberal Education features ESLARP on page 20. This piece, written by Prof. Kenneth Reardon, traces the entire history of ESLARP since 1990, discusses the highs and lows of sustaining a community-university partnership and offers some suggestions for the future of the project. Dennis Keating and Norman Krumholz), features East St. Louis in Chapter 8 "East St. Louis, Illinois: Promoting Community Development Through Empowerment Planning" written by Kenneth Reardon. ___________________________________________________________________ COST-BENEFIT ANALYSIS OF THE EGRETS WEBSITE This paper evaluates the costs and benefits of a project like EGRETS (East St. Louis Geographic Retrieval System). It may be helpful to others who are interested in starting a similar internet-based GIS project.
