Action Research.Illinois (AR.I), sought applications from faculty who are interested and qualified to act as AR.I Faculty Mentors. AR.I Mentors take part in a series of four AR.I Faculty Affiliate workshops in the Spring of 2012 and serve on a panel of mentors for individuals who receive AR.I Course Development Grants in the 2012 funding cycle. Through the panel of mentors and workshop series, AR.I seeks to support the successful development and short and long-term implementation of sustainable (new or substantially revised) courses that incorporate interdisciplinary action-research/service-learning pedagogy with committed community partners in East Central Illinois. The current goals of the Program include:
· Increasing the number and variety of courses at Illinois that incorporate community engagement within East Central Illinois
· Involving more University of Illinois faculty and departments in offering community engagement experiences within undergraduate and graduate coursework
· Supporting the integration of interdisciplinary action research/service learning in the campus curriculum
Expectations of Mentors
