April 20, 2013 On Saturday, April 20th, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign kicked off National Volunteer Week with an inaugural Community-Campus Day of Service. Over 60 students, faculty and staff worked with six community partners on seven projects to complete pre-construction projects, community garden spring preparation projects, flyering in the community, reorganizing classrooms at Tap in Leadership Academy, cataloging choral literature, and preparing a Bee Garden. A big thank you goes out to all who helped on April 20! Search	Enriching perspectives through community engagement Senait Brown Senait Brown Community Liaison Department of Urban and Regional Planning scbrown1@illinois.edu I am a 2nd year Graduate Student in Urban and Regional Planning. My concentration is Community Development for Social Justice. I attended undergrad here as well. I have worked with Brooklyn, IL in the past and have participated in ESLARP trips since 2005. I am a Graduate Advisor for the Transition Program (LAS) and have worked with them in some capactiy every year and summer since 2003. I am currently working on my Capstone in Galesburg, IL (East Main Redevelopment Project) My favorite things about planning is networking, working with underrepresented youth and working in ethnic enclaves. I try to be very organized and engaged with what is going on around me for the most part and I am know to ask a lot of questions for clarification. Looking forward to working with all of you!
