Hi, I'm Susy Hemphill a first year Master's student in urban and regional planning.  I'm originally from Des Moines, IA and recently graduated from the University of Iowa with a BBA in economics and a BA in women's studies.

While at Iowa, I served on the board of directors for a local feminist women's health clinic advocating for expanded education and access to reproductive services.  I also worked as a Project Organizer for a coalition of women's healthcare advocates assessing the availability of emergency contraception, especially in underserved and rural communities.

Within urban planning, I'm focusing on economic and community development. This year I'll be working with ESLARP as a community liaison for various neighborhood organizations.
